Memorial Day Weekend

On Saturday we went to the Bruneau Sand Dunes Park, which is about an hour from our house. This was the first time Gretchen has played in sand so regardless to say she truly enjoyed it!

Sorry for the "Blair Witch Project" effect in this video. It's hard to walk in sand and videotape! It was also pretty windy.
If you look closely you can see people hiking up the really big sand hill. We didn't go on this one.

Back home the first thing she needed was a bath to get rid of all the sand!
She's figured out how to do the motorboat sound in water:

On Monday we "toured" around local sites. Here is the old Train Depot with an old steam locomotive on display. Gretchen was fascinated by the train.

In front of the Depot is Platt Gardens with a beautiful view of downtown. Unfortunately the weather was overcast and drizzly.

We then went to the Kathryn Albertson Park, which is landscaped with ponds and trees.

We ran into a group of geese. They seemed to be comfortable with people as we got quite close to them.
