Father's Day

Happy 1st Father's Day, Ben! He's a wonderful dad. Gretchen's eyes always light up when he walks in the room, and she usually grins and flaps her arms too. He knows how to make her laugh. She definitely loves her dad.

Our family photo.

Ben's family. Happy Father's Day to Ray. He's great with Gretchen and can make her smile and laugh. He's a fun Grandpapa!

Julia's family. Happy Father's Day to Roger. He too is wonderful with Gretchen and she loves playing with him. He makes a great Poppy!

Later that day, Grandmama and Gretchen were both in matching pink outfits that also matched the pink flower bouquet!

Dedication

On Sunday (yes, also Father's Day) Gretchen was dedicated at church. Essentially, this is a public declaration for Ben and me to promise to raise Gretchen as best we can with the support and help of our church family. We also realize she is a gift from God and we dedicate her life to Him.

She was so tired after the service that she fell asleep instantly on Ben's shoulder.

Ben's parents and my parents and my sister and her daughter were all there in support of us.

Fun Time

Ben's parents were in town for Father's Day and we went to the Farmer's Market on Saturday morning. Gretchen may have been a bit sleepy in these photos!

Grandmama and Grandpapa having fun with their granddaughter after her bath, and Gretchen loving all the attention!

Smiles and Squeals

One night Gretchen was particularly squealer and smiley so we took a couple videos.

The girl still loves to jump!

She has another tooth coming in and is drooling a river - that's why the front of her dress is soaked.

Laughing about something!

A smile for dad.

Grandmas

On May 21 Julia's Grandma Findley passed away. Some photos of Grandma holding Gretchen were found so they are posted in memory of her. The photos were taken in Oct. 2008 when Gretchen was just a couple weeks old. Grandma will be missed.

4 generations

We also found out around the same time of Grandma Findley's death that Ben's Grandma Nell Miller was in the hospital diagnosed with lung cancer. So we made a trip to visit her and here are the photos.

4 generations (in a sense): Gretchen, Ben, Ben's Aunt Sue, and Grandma Nell
