Linking, Lining, Ballooning & Camping

Gretchen is becoming quite a "girly" girl as evidenced by her love of wearing bracelets. One day she had put on every link she could find as bracelets.

In the past, we've posted photos of various items that she lines up. Here she found every "wheeled" toy and placed them in the row like a train.

In early Sept we went to see hot-air balloons in the park. We were a bit late to see them all take off but one was still on the ground. While we were there, a couple balloons came in for landings.

Over Labor Day weekend we went camping with Julia's sisters and their families. Callia and Gretchen had fun running together while Fin (not pictured) tried to keep up. This was Gretchen's first camping trip and she did well. Unfortunately we didn't take many photos (just forgot to) so this is what we have from the trip:
Gretchen's getting big for the pack but Ben managed to carry her while hiking.

The lake was beautiful and we enjoyed many walks to the lake for fishing and throwing rocks.

Fair Time

The end of summer means fair time. We first went to the Malheur Co. Fair in Ontario in Aug. Gretchen loves most animals so we made the rounds to see them all.

Yay! A goat to pet!

Look at this bunny!

And this one!

Poppy, this is called a bunny.

Pigs are prickly.

In Sept we went to the Western Idaho Fair.
This is different - a baby kangaroo!

Ahhh! The goats are her favorite!

She says, "C'm 'ere goa-ee" (translation: "Come here goaty")
In the video she squeals when the goat licks her hand. Julia's nephew is off-screen and when his mom moves him closer to see the goat, he is not happy about it.

She tried feeding the sheep.
In this video Gretchen lets the sheep eat out of her hand. Then she decides he needs more.

She wasn't too sure about getting close to the longhorn.

She kept her eye on the horse.....

...finally deciding it was fine to pet him.
Guess she wanted to see what the horse's hooves looked like.
Strangely enough she didn't want to touch the guiena pig.

However she really enjoyed watching the baby quail.
